This memorandum allows the use and distribution of marijuana and regulates the users and distributors’ to ensure efficiency and rational use. They believe that prosecution for patients who need marijuana and the distributors who help the patients is a move in the wrong direction.
This action does not suggest that the federal prosecutor embraces marijuana completely but it is a clear sign that these lawmakers believe there is more to focus on.
Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. said that it is not their priority to use their resources to prosecute patients with severe illnesses and those suppliers who are meeting their needs but they will not tolerate traffickers.
